General News | Wednesday 7 April 2010 4:36 pm

WrightWay Training Limited conducted the first Crew Resource Management course, CRM, to be held at the V.Ships Training Centre in Odessa, Ukraine, from 22 - 26 March, 2010. WrightWay has previously been conducting CRM training for V.Ships at the Transas facility in Portsmouth, and future courses will be conducted at both sites.

WrightWay has been working with Transas UK and V.Ships for over a year to develop a simulator suite that is used to train deck and engine room officers in a range of skills at a variety of sites. WrightWay visited the Odessa V.Ships Training Centre in February to help the local team in the final preparation. The result of everybody’s efforts is an excellent and effective training facility, and an inaugural course that was judged by all concerned to be a resounding success. The five deck officers and five engineers who attended the course all gave positive feedback about both the facilities and the overall course.

V.Ships and WrightWay Training will be conducting 12 more CRM courses throughout 2010, the next of which is in Portsmouth in May and Odessa in June.

The next site that will benefit from the collaboration between WWTL and V.Ships and using Transas simulators will be Novoryssysk, Russia, which will be operational before summer this year.
