A team is a group of people who are jointly responsible for achieving a shared goal. If one member fails then it can hinder the achievement of the collective goal. Even if the members fulfil their individual roles but they don't work synergistically, then the team will not reach its potential or achieve as much as it could.
At WrightWay we help our clients to focus on the most important foundations to building better collective performance. Two of the most important of these are commitment to and a common understanding of the shared goal.
The main course objectives in this module are for delegates to ‘discovery learn’ features of teams and teamwork. These include:
- The effectiveness of team working leading to enhanced overall performance.
- Sharing of the workload and utilisation of the skills and expertise of each member, leading to a team being better prepared to face the challenges of today's competitive world.
- Because teams are sometimes not a natural phenomenon, they need to be carefully constructed and maintained.
- Management style and leadership ability are vital in effective team building.
The module demonstrates the manner in which effective teams interact and communicate to the mutual benefit of the organisation. Delegates discover how individual personalities can be integrated into a successful team, allowing each member to realise his or her full potential for the benefit of the team and the organisation.
This training module introduces Team Skills in the following areas:
- Briefings
- Communication as it affects decision making
- Feedback within teams
- Leadership and ‘followership’
- Interpersonal relations
- Preparation and planning
